Lead CNC Machinist

San Antonio, TX, has been in the business for 40 years designing and producing high end, precision-engineered light fixtures for organizations all over the world. All products are taken from cradle to grave, designed, prototyped, and manufactured at their 13-acre 90,000 sq. ft. headquarters. They utilize the latest technology in the machining industry to meet each client's needs and ideas. This company is dedicated to the community of people it employees, which is around 150, ensuring a team of passionate, hard-working, creative, and professional people. In this position, you will work on set up and operation of HAAS and Doosan 3-4 axis mills, lathes with live tooling, and more. This is a
1st
shift positon (6:30 AM - 3 PM). While ensuring a comfortable work-life balance, some overtime opportunities are also available.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate mill turns, 3-4 axis mills, and/or lathes with live tooling


• Edit programs at the machine


• Perform inspections to ensure conformance of specifications


• Interpret blueprints for specifications such as dimensions, tolerance & instructions


• Select and secure holding fixtures, tools, etc


• Perform daily maintenance of machines


• Maintain machine schedule for jobs 


• Routine quality checks on team members 


• Track output and ensure efficient production 


• Train team members on new equipment


• Provide weekly updates and shop feedback to supervisor

Qualifications

• 4 years previous experience in set up and operation of CNC machines (mill, lathe, etc)


• Completion of trade school is a plus!


• Skilled in editing programs at the machine (Fanuc & HAAS controls)


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances


• Knowledge and use of measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.

Salary for this position is dependent on experience and may fall somewhere between $27-33/hour.
