Human Resources Generalist
BrightKey is seeking a dedicated and versatile Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team. As the backbone of our HR department, you will play a pivotal role in supporting one of our large government contracts.

This position supports a workforce located in D.C. and works out of our office in Annapolis. This is a fully onsite role, no hybrid schedule.
This role also supports the government security clearance, and this position will train you to be the Assist Facility Security Officer (AFSO), as such, you must be eligible for a government clearance, and be willing to train for this role.

Job Responsibilities
- Administer various human resources plans and procedures for our workforce located in Washington D.C., and must be familiar with D.C. laws and regulations.
- Partner and participate in meeting department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Perform benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Partnering with our recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel.
- Handle employee relations counseling and outplacement counseling.
- Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect improvement in retention and continual improvements in services performed.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain human resource information system records and compiled reports from the database.
- Partner with worksite supervisor in employee training and development initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a human resources role
- Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws
- Experience in handling employee relations issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Certification in Human Resources (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Preference is given to individuals who have a current security clearance.
