What You Will Do:

Providing exceptional customer service is paramount to all Lowe's Merchandising Associate. We ensure that the store is clean and well-stocked with products that our customers require to enjoy a hassle-free shopping experience:

  • Lowe's representatives must be welcoming and knowledgeable, greeting customers and helping them with their home renovation plans.
  • Verifying the accuracy of loading tickets and processing orders with careful attention to detail to ensure that customers receive their products promptly and as they had expected.
  • Making safety a priority should be a part of the daily routine for anyone working in an industrial setting.

At Lowe's, the Merchandising Associate manages the customer's shopping journey. The associate assists in selecting products, verifying quotes, confirming prices, and meeting all customer demands. Moreover, the associate offers premium customer service by actively listening to clients, deploying their proficiency, and expertly loading merchandise. Also, it is vital that the associate stay vigilant and immediately report all safety or security issues outside the store.

The specific responsibilities of Merchandising Associate are dependent on the department they are associated with. These departments consist of Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls. Applicants for the position of Customer Service Associate may be appointed to any of these departments, depending on the company's hiring needs and their own expertise.

Travel Requirements:

Regular traveling is not necessary for this job; however, there might be cases where occasional travels are required to take part in meetings, training programs, or help out neighboring stores.

  • Full-time or part-time hourly work: The two options available for employees, allotment of hours being 39 to 40 or up to 25 hours every week, with the potential for more hours based on the store's needs.
  • To qualify, candidates must be willing to work any day of the week with morning, afternoon, and evening shifts as required.
  • The skill to carry out work obligations that involve sustained periods of standing, sitting, and other physical actions requisite to achieving work responsibilities.
  • In certain stores, CSAs are assigned to the Greeter departments, and they must have the capability to lift at least 10 pounds without support, while they may lift more than 10 pounds either with or without help.
  • Except for the Greeter department, all other departments mandate that the CSA should be capable of heaving 25 pounds by themselves, and beyond 25 pounds, they may use assistance or not.

Another essential element of success is hard work. You must be willing to put in the effort required to achieve your goals. There are no shortcuts to success:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Six months of computer exposure have enabled the candidate to navigate a computer system efficiently, performing such tasks as data input, retrieval, modification, and outputting.
  • My experience in retail spans six months, wherein I have become well-versed in using everyday technological gadgets like smartphones and tablets.
  • Acquiring the mandatory sales licensure or registration is a vital aspect of the sales industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • As someone who has had six months of sales experience, I have a deep understanding of customer needs and how to meet them. My skills in identifying and selling products based on individual customer requirements, as well as explaining product features and benefits, have served me well in my previous role.
  • During my 6 months of retail experience, providing top-notch customer service has been my primary responsibility. I am skilled in addressing customer complaints, guiding customers in finding merchandise, offering a friendly greeting, handling phone inquiries, fostering customer relationships, and expressing sincere gratitude for their loyalty.
  • A requirement for the store may include proficiency in a second language.
  • One of the best ways to show your credibility in the hardware, plumbing, kitchen, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials industry is by acquiring a certification relevant to your department.
