How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The DMS Lead Buyer is a full-time position that will be responsible for the supervision and performance of a team of Buyers and will report to the Director– Surplus Procurement.
Scope of responsibilities includes assisting all the daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly activities of the Buyers to proactively provide operational support so we can hit our goals while maintaining cost effectiveness. The Lead will assist in day to day responsibilities of the Buyers which consists of training, purchase trace review, sourcing, quotes, and working with operations to receive in purchases in a timely manner. This position is based in Atlanta, GA.
Primary Functions
Support the commercial organization for brokered purchases
Assist in trace review of purchases to minimize rejections
Deliver cost saving solutions to the overall value chain to reduce CASM for Delta Airlines
Ensure collaboration and leveraging of purchase and sourcing strategy with Delta Air Lines MRO organization
Maintain relationships with third party providers of surplus purchasing
Track vendor performance for turn around time and preferred pricing opportunities
Identify and participate in process improvement opportunities related to procurement programs and processes
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
At least 3 - 5 years of related work experience in an aviation field such as procurement or supply chain.
Demonstrated success in problem solving, analytical skills and data analysis.
Excellent written and oral communications.
Applicant must be proficient with MS Excel, Outlook and SAP.
Proficiency with Tableau and Salesforce desirable.
