About The Role
The CBRE Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (EHS) is responsible for supporting the Global EHS Compliance Program by completing work streams to deliver various cross-functional EHS projects with a focus on regulatory program compliance and global implementation. The EHS Specialist consults and communicates with department leadership and stakeholders, serves as a regulatory content and document expert as well as ensures training program compliance and quality. The EHS Specialist should have a broad understanding of EHS related regulations and referenced standards as well as program writing, development and training content creation experience.
This is a hybrid position. The HSE Specialist - Compliance will be required to work onsite at our Global Technology Client's office at one of the advertised locations.
What You'll Do
- Ability to gather large amounts of regulatory information and organize.
- Ability to present research and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ability to review programmatic documentation for satisfaction with compliance requirements.
- Assists in Global EHS Compliance initiatives to include audits and assessments.
- Working knowledge of auditing processes and assisting in the creation of tools and processes to assist with a global implementation.
- Executes initiatives to improve internal training processes and global training delivery.
- Supports course offerings and assignments, content development, review and edits, and record keeping in the Learning Management System.
- Maintains the EHS Compliance support queue and responds to requests in a timely manner.
- Work both independently and collaboratively, exercising good reasoning skills.
- Develop positive relationships with teams and stakeholders.
- No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to team members. May coordinate and assign tasks to team members within a specific functional unit and/or project.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in EHS or a related field, from a four-year college or university, with a minimum of 3 years of related experience is preferred.
- Broad demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety, and environmental regulations as well as application in program drafting, editing, and implementation is preferred.
- Industry recognized certifications are a plus (ASP, CSP, etc.).
- Global EHS program experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to solve problems involving several options in a variety of scenarios.
- Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to drive decisions, lead meetings/strategy discussions, define priorities, and decide which course of action (and adjust when it needs adjusting).
- Demonstrated consultative skills as applied to technical problem solving, including good business understanding and the ability to develop consolidated understanding of requirements from multiple stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace Tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting and achieving functional unit and/or project deadlines.
