Overview: The Patient Service Representative contributes to IHC’s mission by performing a variety of patient service duties necessary to maintain the efficient flow of operations at the health center and ensure a positive and consistent customer service experience for IHC patients.
- Helps to improve the patient’s experience from the beginning of their encounter by answering the phone to the end of their visit by assisting with completing steps in the treatment plan such as sending a referral to a specialist
- Assists in training new staff for the Patient Service Center
- Answers phone calls, schedules appointments, addresses patients’ needs
- Works with management team to schedule appointments according to Patient Scheduling policy guidelines and health center needs
- Processes appropriate patient paperwork promptly
- Educates patients regarding documents they will need to provide at the time of service
- Accurately enters, maintains, and retrieves data on IHC’s Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Communicate with patients care team as necessary
- Assists with contacting patients for reminder calls and follow-up
- Assists with pre-chart preparation
- Juggles multiple requests and meets multiple deadlines

Requirements
Graduation from a standard high school, or equivalent. One (1) year of prior experience in an office or health-related position. Related education can substitute for experience. Spanish speaking is required.
