Senior Electrical Designer -Reston VA Information Technology

Senior Electrical Designer needed for a Contract to direct-hire opportunity with SOC's client to work in Reston, VA. Responsibilities Electrical Physical Design (and circuit and raceway). Responsible for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and update, conduit and aboveground raceway design. Works under the direction of Engineering Group Supervisor and Lead Designer. Responsible to produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems. Must be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry proven concepts and procedures. Must have proven 2D and 3D CADD skills. Must have experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections to the database. Responsibilities also include ensuring that the electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. May interface with Construction and Subcontractors. Must be able to effectively communicate and work well with others and within a team. Must be able to work well with other disciplines. Must know how to use computer programs such as the Microsoft Windows suite of programs. Ability to cope with conflicting deadline, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks. Qualifications Familiar with Bechtel standard programs. Hands-on experience with SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections in the data base. Familiar with all Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their application to projects. Experience with Revit design tools. Experience with SmartPlant 3D design tools. Knowledge of design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPS). Experience in construction interface and resolving field problems. Experience with AP1000 Nuclear Power Plant Design.
