The responsibility of the Facilities/Maintenance Technician is to help keep our McDonald’s restaurants and equipment running smoothly and efficiently. We will count on you to provide repair and maintenance while our restaurant crews deliver the gold standard experience to our guests. In this role you will work closely with the Operations Manager and Restaurant Owner to maintain the overall upkeep of each restaurant location and work closely overseeing each individual restaurants’ maintenance person. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


Duties



  • Oversee the general upkeep of buildings, including floors, walls, ceilings, roofs, doors, windows, locks, fixtures, and furniture and make minor repairs when needed or contact outside contractors when necessary

  • Make minor repairs to HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building needs; contacting outside contractors for repairs if needed and overseeing the work of contractors

  • Operate all components of the utility systems, know location and function of controls and shut-off, know all utility system failure procedures.

  • Responsible for the overall restroom maintenance; replacement of all fixtures, plumbing repairs, clogged drains, toilets, urinals, faucets, traps, etc.

  • Assemble small scale furniture, equipment, and fixtures as needed.

  • Maintain a routine schedule of service to each of the organization’s facilities and advise on the upkeep and cleanliness of each facility to improve overall appeal and safety

  • Perform landscaping, grounds maintenance and other outdoor duties as assigned. May also perform shoveling/plowing of snow and remove ice during the winter season, if needed.

  • Inspect routine and preventive facility maintenance to ensure safety practices and that each facility maintains quality/safety code standards

  • Confer with Operations Manager and Restaurant Owner to coordinate and prioritize work needed at each restaurant location

  • Effectively communicate and verbalize instructions or information to owner, operations manager, store management and maintenance personnel, and outside vendors and contractors.

  • Maintain maintenance logs for each facility outlying repairs, contracts, etc.

  • Prepare work reports concerning types of repairs made, materials used and cost of completed work assignments. Submit expenses to Finance for them to process invoices and to assist them in the preparation of facilities and maintenance budget.

  • Maintains minor inventory of materials and equipment. Purchase parts, tools, and supplies, as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • May be required to work overtime during emergency situations. Emergency situations involve the immediate need to repair or otherwise mitigate a facility condition.


Requirements:



  • Must be 18 years or older

  • High School or Equivalent Education

  • Driver’s License, personal vehicle, & clean driving record

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends for necessary projects

  • Mechanically inclined – with general knowledge of building codes and standards, including safety rules and practices, and a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC

  • At least two (2) years of experience in building maintenance; or equivalent combination of training and experience

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills – must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task while working under minimal supervision

  • Able to read and understand assembly instructions and equipment manuals

  • Ability for repetitive bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require

  • Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 75 pounds at a time

  • Comfortable working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints, and other chemicals

  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
