The Role The role of the Payroll Analyst focused on analytics, data reporting or insights - ideally within a hire to retire context. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience working in finance operations, payroll, or as a business process analyst. In this role you will provide insights and highlight trends from payroll and utilize your excellent communication skills to engage key stakeholders for an effective presentation of insights. The ideal candidate will be curious, outgoing, and an analytical thinker with the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities Analysis of data to spot trends in activity in payroll, Kronos and HR
Provide and present insights and trends to leadership and key stakeholders
Partnership and cross-functional interaction with teams to support ongoing reporting initiatives
Development of accessible, reusable analytical tools to drive efficiency and performance within the payroll function
Reporting of payroll KPIs using our business intelligence tools including: Tableau Data Visualization, In-house tools ERP systems including Microsoft D365
Develop models, ad-hoc reports, sharing observations with leadership and identifying areas for improvement
Develop and maintain requirements and definitions for new/enhances analytical reports and dashboards
Review and analyze source data and ensure data accuracy and integrity. Guide and advice data analysts implement process and system improvements to enhance integrity and accuracy of master data
Work with stakeholders to understand their available data, optimize associated data model and create business insights
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality of master data
Develop and automate maintenance of master data increasing efficiencies and optimizing collection of data
Develop design to extract, transform source data into the data mart and create, refine and automate data pipelines
Assists in developing and maintaining requirements/specifications for new or enhanced functionality to department operational reports.
Filter and cleanse data, review reports and performance indicators to location and correct data and processes where needed.
Runs ad hoc and scheduled reports and collects feedback from internal customers on creating new reports.
Under direction of the Director, designs and maintains suite of reports / analytics to support Payroll and Kronos.
Monitors key performance indicators to ensure data accuracy and data management policies are working as expected.
Develop and design improvements to the processes, procedures, tools, rules and metrics to ensure data integrity of master data domain.

Requirements BA/BS degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or another related field desired.
5+ years of experience in directly relevant analytical roles in technology, strategic, business reporting. Direct relevant experience within a larger, leading/high growth technology company is highly preferred.
Experience with Payroll and timekeeping functions
Excellent communicator with the ability to make logical decisions
Knowledge of the payroll hire to retire cycle
Expertise with SQL, power BI, Excel and Tableau to run and analyze reports, Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and SharePoint) required
Excellent verbal communication, presentation, collaboration and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to gain trust, secure buy-in and influence change at all levels
High attention to detail with ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and distill it in crisp, clear language appropriate for a variety of audiences
Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
Strong process orientation and demonstrated ability to define and document new or improved business planning and management processes and reporting mechanisms
Proactive, resourceful, and creative in fully utilizing available resources and data
