Border Patrol Agents commencing their services on or after January 8, 2024, are in store for a lucrative reward scheme offered as recruitment incentives.   • In order to maintain the highest level of security along the international border and coastal waterways, the USBP employs diverse Government resources, ranging from off-road vehicles and horses to watercraft and motor vehicles.
  • Travel may be mandated occasionally due to operational requirements.

Experience Substitution: One year of related professional experience could be substituted for one year of training at college, university, or a technical or vocational school at the junior college level or above

To be eligible for this position, you must have either a Bachelor's degree in criminology, law enforcement, police science, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or a comparable combination of education and experience

Education Substitution Clause: To qualify for this opening, applicants can exhibit their educational suitability by having a bachelor's degree that displays exceptional academic accomplishments, either due to one's class rank, possessing a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or membership in an honor society. Another method of meeting the educational prerequisites is by demonstrating that one will complete their bachelor's degree program with Superior Academic Achievement. Candidates can also satisfy the educational standards by substituting one year of graduate-level education completed at an accredited academic institution in a field of study related to law enforcement. Programs of study that will fulfill the criteria include criminal justice, homeland security, justice studies, law enforcement, courts and judicial systems, forensic technology, forensic psychology, or corrections and rehabilitation. This graduate-level education must have been completed within 9 months before the announcement's closing date
