Job Description:

The role of preparing, merchandising, and replenishing prepared foods products is integral to the functions of this job. Additionally, participating in promotional programs and monitoring inventory control are important duties in this position. It is also crucial to have knowledge in organizing promotional displays and maintaining required standards. As with all Whole Foods Market Retail jobs, providing excellent service with a positive company image is key. Following Standard Operating Procedures and being able to perform other Team Member duties is expected. Upholding WFM core values, supporting store programs and initiatives, and adhering to health and safety regulations is mandatory in this position.

Responsibilities:

• Procures and restocks food items for cooking using appropriate purchasing methods.
• Handles open purchase order and credit reports with precision and promptness.
• Minimizing spoilage and reducing shrinkage while meeting turn goals and keeping track of inventory are all part of the job of a control specialist.
• Fulfills spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets according to the task at hand.
• Provides support for counter service and culinary preparation as per schedule or when needed.
• Stays in contact with the Kitchen Manager/Chef and Team Leader regarding purchasing and problematic situations.
• Develops and fosters strong, professional ties with vendors.
• Collaborates with the Team Leader or Assistant Team Leader(s) in determining the recipe's cost.
• Coordinates special orders for customers located outside of the country.
• Helps leaders carry out inventory management efficiently.
• Achieving and surpassing purchasing and sales goals is crucial in ensuring financial profitability.
• Commences work on the designated station punctually, impeccably dressed, well-groomed and prepared to carry out duties, ensuring prompt attendance for all assigned shifts, and participating in mandatory trainings and meetings.
• Outstanding customer service is delivered by promptly addressing the needs of customers in an effective manner and by demonstrating suggestive selling techniques. The phone is answered promptly and courteously.
• Optimizes the possibility of sales by employing efficient and correct methods for preparing, organizing, repositioning, supplying, and displaying products.
• Adheres to established protocols and regulations, such as those related to Weights and Measures, sanitation, and safety, to ensure an organized and secure work environment.
• Ensures that the working and shopping environment is kept clean and sanitary, and equipment is maintained to meet WFM's safety and sanitation standards.
• Assigned opening, midday, and closing tasks are executed with precision; signs and prices are verified for accuracy.
• Any safety hazards and violations must be reported without delay.

The job requirements involve a certain level of physical ability that includes standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects on a regular basis:

• Capable of hoisting up to 50 pounds.
• The average workday of 8 hours involves standing or walking for 6-8 hours.
• The act of employing one's hands involves a variety of movements, including grasping, managing small objects, and exerting force to either shove or pull.
• The physical movements involved in work include bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Being subjected to cleaning substances sanctioned by the FDA.
• Various temperature ranges can cause different effects on different things. Extreme temperatures can damage some materials, while moderate temperatures help to preserve them. One must exercise caution when coming into contact with temperature-sensitive substances.
• Capability to perform tasks both in damp and arid environments.
• Possessing the capability to work a schedule that is flexible and includes the evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Proficiency in handling various cutting tools such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other mechanical devices.
• Ladders may be necessary for this task.
