Accounting Specialist

Job Description:We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly efficient Bookkeeper/Tax Preparer to join our team. This is a contract position with the potential of becoming permanent. The successful candidate will have a strong background in both tax preparation and basic bookkeeping. They will be responsible for preparing a high volume of tax returns, specifically individual and S corporation business returns. They will also handle bookkeeping tasks, including managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, along with bank reconciliations and posting of journal entries.Responsibilities:Prepare and file a significant number of individual and business tax returns.Perform bookkeeping duties which includes recording financial transactions, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.Conduct thorough and detailed bank reconciliations.Post and manage journal entries to ensure accuracy of financial records.Execute data analysis and interpretation to aid in financial decision-making processes.Utilize forensic accounting techniques to uncover discrepancies and inaccuracies in financial data.Participate in a team-oriented business environment, collaborating with colleagues to reach shared goals and ensure compliance with all tax laws.
