Overview


Our expert staff provide multi-disciplinary solutions to complex energy and environmental issues. Key capabilities include science (chemical and mechanical). We employ a systems perspective that includes, discovery technology development and scale-up as well as economic, regulatory, and market acceptance issues necessary for successful technology commercialization. EP&MD focuses on three mission contributions: Clean Fossil Energy, Electricity Infrastructure, & Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.


Responsibilities


We are seeking an undergraduate intern with a strong background in Materials Science and Enginnering to join our Battery Materials and System (BMS) group. The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be to assist in the development of new materials, chemistry, technologies in batteries and energy storage with the assistance of Artificial intelligence ( AI ) and machine learning ( ML ). The candidate may also have the opportunity to explore new materials and chemistry for energy storage in collaboration with a highly collaborative, highly productive, multidiscipline team.




  • Work under the supervision of our battery scientists for new materials, chemistry for batteries and energy storage using AI/ML




  • Write report of project progress




  • Present research results in meetings.




Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications




  • Candidates must have a high school diploma /GED or higher




  • Candidates must be degree-seeking undergraduate students enrolled at an accredited college or university




  • Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5




Preferred Qualifications




  • Undergraduate students in Materials Science and Engineering




  • Knowledge in AI/ML




  • Knowledge in batteries and energy storage
