Analytical Chemist

Position Summary

This person will support a lab that produces chemicals for a variety of industries. You will have the opportunity to work with most of the major analytical instruments.

Responsibilities

• Utilize analytical techniques and instrumentation
• Utilize wet chemistry methods to analyze samples
• Review, interpret and summarize data
• Record analytical results utilizing good documentation practices
• Communicate effectively within the QC team and with cross-functional teams
• Set up daily standards, daily KF calibrations and special purpose laboratory equipment to test products
• Plan a sequence for testing of incoming samples
• Play an active role in the quality management team within the organization
• Perform other duties as assigned

Able to carry out all quality control testing in the laboratory to ensure the company’s products are in compliance with established specifications using the following instrumentation:

- Gas Chromatography

- Liquid Chromatography

- UV-Visible Spectrophotometer

- Infra-red Spectrophotometer

- pH analysis

- Karl Fischer Water Determination

- FTIR

- Residue after evaporation testing

- Fluorescents testing

- Optical absorption

Skills & Qualifications

• Prefer Bachelors degree in Hard Science preference towards Chemistry or Biochemistry (Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, with chemistry experience from school would also qualify)
