Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Blazer Jobs, in collaboration with a reputable school district in the Kansas City, KS area, is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position presents an exciting opportunity to provide healthcare support in a special education setting and contribute to the well-being of students with diverse medical needs.
Responsibilities:
- Administer routine and emergency medical care to students with chronic health conditions, disabilities, or special needs.
- Monitor students' health status, vital signs, and medication administration according to prescribed protocols and physician's orders.
- Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health care plans (IHCPs) and ensure the provision of appropriate medical services and accommodations.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents, or illnesses occurring on school premises and follow established procedures for reporting and documentation.
- Maintain accurate health records, immunization records, and medication logs in compliance with state regulations and school policies.
Requirements:
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Kansas.
- Current CPR certification and other relevant certifications as required by the state or school district.
- Preferably a minimum of one year of clinical experience working as an LPN, particularly in pediatric or school health settings.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices related to healthcare management in educational settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
